2010 EMDA Auto Show

We hope to meet as many people as possible at the show, and that, everyone who comes to the show gets to see this sample of our work.

We have a wide range of customers yet they all want and appreciate quality in the final product.

 2010 EMDA Auto Show

As in the previous 7 years,Joey's Place has been asked to add a little color and interest to the auto show. We display vehicles that are often quite different from all the new production automobiles. This year we have a variety of cars, trucks, race cars and even a boat on display.

 2010 EMDA Auto Show

This 2010 GMC truck is also featured at the show. We were asked to modify and install the wide body kit which would have been much easier if it were a race vehicle (as initially intended. Unfortunately, the fit was not good so extensive modifications were done to get a nice factory style fit of the fender, hood, tailgate and tail lights.

We also modified the inner structure to preserve factory hood hinge mounts and inner splash shields. Last but not least, we straighten the panels and painted the truck so it appeared as if it rolled off the assembly line.

This 2010 GMC truck has moderately widened front fenders and rear fender flares to accommodate larger tires without having to lift the body as much as usual.

Butterflies--2010 Ford Truck

We have a wide range of customers requesting many different paint designs and graphics. The lady who owns this 2010 Ford truck wanted butter-flies and fairies, so our challenge was to tie it all together. This is the final project.

1979 Ford F-250 This was a major project forus. We started with the frame, and then built an aggressive suspension and drive line. Then we restored the body and painted it in DuPont Hot Hues Candy orange. The truck received all new trim and mouldings, a very nice custom snake skin interior and a sound system.

The engine is a 514 cubic inch big block in the 620 H.P range. It got accessories and many mechanical up dates.

Roland Leong "The Hawaiian"

Joey ~ you and Ron Hodgson have SO helped get our pal and dear friend back in the spot light; thank you!

Yeah, when I saw pics of Ro IN the car, I smirked; and knew it was at least a hundred years since he put her off the end at Long Beach

He tells the story the best: He makes his ONLY pass at "the Beach"and goes into the weeds.. Keith Black tells him - "Roland, how am I ever going to tell your Mother that I killed you? You need to find a driver. I know this painter kid in the Valley, his name is Prudhomme..."

GODSPEED& RIP Mr. Black ~ you so changed so many lives.....

Here “The Hawaiian Dragster”of Roland Leong's is displayed at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas. It was interesting that the car was displayed next to Don Prodhomme's car. Don of course, in his earlier career drove the dragster.

Joey’s Place Race Team in Bakersfield California:Joey and his team along with six other race teams from Edmonton made the long haul to Bakersfield California to compete at the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion. Out of the 6 teams – 4 funny cars made the very competitive show. Joey qualified in the #6 spot out of 24 cars in his class. He made it all the way to the final round. Unfortunately Joey went out of shape, took out a center cone and lost. All things considered the team was very happy with the results and the memories from their weekend.

Collision Repairs While we do not try to compete with the collision repair industry Joey's Place is fully capable of doing this work. Check the page Currant Projects and Some of the Work in Progress to see a wide range of vehicles, including Muscle Cars and Exotics that we have recently repaired.

2010 Custom Truck Another project for our friends at Ron Hodgson Chevrolet, GMC. This is a little different from the norm. The factory color was preserved on the front end for the flames and the remainder of the truck was sprayed in Hot Rod satin black. The out line was then hand pinstriped in a blood red.

1969 Resto - Rod Camaro is one of the coolest projects we have ever built. This real Z-28 first needed a full restoration which included replacing most of the body panels. Subtle modifications have been done to items such as door handles, bumpers, valance, and fire wall to make this car unique. The interior and the electronics have also been upgraded. The paint is special affects Hot Hues Silver.
