Past Projects
Joey’s Place history of completed projects is very large. Over the years there has been a wide range of vehicles restored or extensively re-worked back to better shape. Restorations referred to as “frame off restorations” typically follow these major steps in the process: disassembly, stripping, metal work, body and prep work, paint work and finally the assembly. Enjoy looking at the finished results.

High Lights of Past Major Restorations

A very rare factory pink RT/SE 1970 Challenger. The customer picked up his car at this point of completion.

1970 Resto-Rod Chevelle

This is the starting point as received from customer. Here we have another restoration where the body will be taken to a very high standard. Every body panel will be replaced. The panel fit and straightness as well as the gapping will far surpass the original produced line quality. To compliment this body will be: an updated drive train which will have a 572 cubic inch GM crate engine, a four-speed automatic transmission, four wheel disc brakes and a full Hotchkis suspension.

1965 Corvette

New project - 65 Corvette
Starting point as dropped off from customer.
Not all cars brought to us are getting modern drive trains. This car is here for the highest quality we can deliver in a numbers correct frame off restoration. Right down to the chalk marks, this customer wants a true and complete restoration of body, frame and every other component. As seen here we are chemically stripping the existing lacquer paint job.

1972 Challenger

As dropped off by customer.

Resto-Rods has become the common term for (big demand) the modernizing of older muscle cars. This 1972 Challenger has received a full rotisserie restoration. As seen here, the "K" member has been fabricated allowing for tubular control arms, rack in pinion steering and coil over shocks. The rear suspension will compliment the front. The drive train is going to be centered around a big inch small block and 5 speed Tremec transmission.
